Outside of Fashion: Architecture, Visual Arts and Fashion Collide
Mon, Jun 5
7:00pm - 9:00pm
$5 - GenArt members, $10 for Non-members
The second in a panel discussion series created to inspire the mind =
and question the unquestioned, the evening's program showcases a =
collaboration between architect Paul Woolford, visual artist Ted =
Vasin and fashion designer (and Gen Art alum) Elena Manferdini. The =
three artists, each known for their expert knowledge in their related =
fields, will create a "collection" for this evening's show - and will =
discuss the pitfalls and opportunities of multi-disciplinary =
interaction around creating fashion. The evening's discussion will =
pose the following questions: What is it for an artist to think =
outside of his/her own respective "medium" when creating? What =
challenges did communication between the artists bring to the =
project? Moving forward, how might an artist change as a result of =
such collaboration?
