In this book of travel essays and recipes, Robert Reynolds offers an
intimate glimpse of French life, with vividly described markets,
towns and villages. An Excuse to Be Together introduces us to
farmers, growers and cheese and wine makers who have hosted Reynolds
and his cooking students, generously sharing their expertise and
their love of food. These stories take readers into French homes and
place them at the table to share hospitality with good food, company
and conversation.
