"Flourish, roses, dust to dust" is a new art show by Hannah Stouffer
at Cowboys and Angels salon and gallery. May 19th to June 26, 2006.

San Francisco-based painter and illustrator Hannah Stouffer
constantly strives to define "classic" and explores how the term
relates to our modern attractions. She draws inspiration from
traditional notions of elegance and always tries to engage them as
the basis for her work.

"My work addresses a statement and a stillness that is timeless. I'm
attempting to create pieces that are traditional in their theme, yet
executed in a contemporary fashion. My work originates from visual
memories, modern attractions and the extensive research I have done
on other eras. In my work, I often simplify scenes, emphasizing the
aspects that I was drawn to- in the same way that classic elements
are usually occurring with such simplicity. This idea and inspiration
is constantly evolving and I am continuously searching for new
elements and combinations."
