Whatever Lola Wants

I was once referred to as an enigma.
I laughed so hard, I almost peed my
pants. A contradiction to say the least.
There is nothing mysterious about me
and there is no great mystery to solve.
My art work speaks the same truth.
It is what it is, nothing more and
nothing less. What is it? Who's "it"
is it?" I do not have the answers other
than it is not mine. It calls out to me
as I scavenge. Somewhere through
the layers of grease, rusted hardware
and peeling paint, its story is revealed
and the creative process begins.
