The works exhibited in Interior Visions: Constructs of Fear and
Desire are the visual manifestations of the artists' deepest fears,
or, conversely, their most fervent desires. Organized by Bay Area
artist Lewis deSoto and curated by Emily McLeod, the artists in the
show manipulate digital imagery to create "realities" that fall on
one side of the divide between dream and nightmare, often offering
the viewer the possibility of multiple interpretations.
"One of the exciting aspects of life in the digital world is that we
can create believable spaces that previously existed only in our
imagination, dreams or nightmares," says McLeod. "Interior Visions
is about the revelation of such spaces."
Exhibiting artists include Kate August, Shawnee Batsch, Matthew
Bolger, Rose Brady, Lauren Creamer, Christopher Girard, Vi Hoang,
Lisa Horn, Matthew Johnston, Allysun Marie, Karin Marshall, Alex
Martinez, Stuart Meislin, Christopher Morring, Trevor Myers, Gysel
Parajon, Damaris Rivera, Lauren Silagyi and Steve Sinson.
