The Stand-Up Project

The Stand-up Project is the premier performance troupe of the San
Francisco Comedy College. A product of the SFCC's intensive comedy
training and strong sense of community, the Project brings the funny
with a genuine and dynamic focus on constant growth, passion and
professionalism. The Project strives to give quality performances
that show respect for each other, audiences and the art form of stand-
up comedy.

Kurtis Matthews
SFCC CEO has featured for Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison and other comedy
legends. A national headliner for 15 years, Kurtis has trained over
700 people to be funny, including all of the Stand-up Project.

Anthony Hill
A regular performer at the Improv in San Jose, Anthony has opened for
Brett Butler, Robert Schimmel, Bob Saget, Brian Regan and Darrell
Hammond, amongst others.

Michael Slack
Winner of the 2005 Rooster T. Feathers New Talent contest in
Sunnyvale, Michael has featured for Richard Lewis, Bob Saget and
Brian Regan at the Improv in San Jose.

Maggie Newcomb
Winner of the 2004 'Battle of the Bay' competition at the Improv,
Maggie is also a regular performer at the renowned club. She's opened
for Jake Johannsen and many others.

Sal Calanni
Finalist in the 2005 SJ Improv "Battle of the Bay" Opening Act for
Tom Rhodes, Paid regular on the road and at the SJ Improv and
Punchlines in NoCal.

Reggie Steele
A regular performer at the Improv in San Jose, Reggie has opened for
Damon Wayans, Tommy Davidson, Mark Curry, Bill Bellamy and Alonzo
Bodden. Reggie also won the 2003 Rooster T. Feathers New Talent
competition.

Bob Brindley
Actor, improv performer, MC and stand-up comedian, Bob is also a
member of SPF 7; the SFCCs' internationally touring improv troupe.

Tom Smith
Host and producer of "Tom Smith and Friends" comedy showcases at the
Shelton Theatre, Tom performs regularly at the Green Room, the Purple
Onion, the Improv and many other Bay Area clubs.

David Van Avermaete
Third-place winner of the 2004 Battle of the Bay competition,
Finalist Rooster Ts New Talent and SJ Improv Battle of the Bay 05
contests and former CEO of a fortune 500 company.

Justin McClure
Georgia Native, Improv and all other Bay Area club regular, finalist
06 NBC "Last Comic Standing" , booker and friend to all comics in the
Bay Area. His originality and commitment to being a great comic is
why he is the newest member of TSUP!
