Event: The Council on Foreign Relations convened an independent
bipartisan Task Force to explore whether spreading democracy in the
Middle East is in the best interests of the U.S. The Task Force,
comprised of leading regional, economic, diplomatic, and business
experts, finds that democracy promotion is the best means to achieve
stability in the Middle East, and vital to restoring America's
credibility in the Arab world.
