Who: Jeffry A. Frieden, Professor, Department of Government, Harvard
University.
Event: In 1900, many people considered globalization to be inevitable
and irreversible, as we do now, and yet the entire edifice collapsed
in 1914. Jeffry A. Frieden's insightful history explores the golden
age of globalization during the early twentieth century, its swift
collapse, the divisions of the Cold War world, and the turn again
toward global integration. His history both deepens our understanding
