What: "Mexican Days: Journeys into the Heart of Mexico"
Who: Tony Cohan, travel writer and novelist; author of On Mexican
Time and the memoir Native State; his articles, essays, and reviews
have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The
Times (London)
Event: Tony Cohan, who has lived and traveled in Mexico for many
years, has written a beautifully crafted overview of Mexico's diverse
culture and history. In Mexican Days, he takes the reader to
locations such as Oaxaca, Palenque, and the Yucatan Peninsula. In his
signature poetic style, Cohan relays adventures from traveling the
misty mountains and coastal towns of Veracruz, to chasing the ghost
of a writer in Zapatista-controlled Chiapas. Cohan's travelogue
brings a unique perspective to both Mexican aficionados and those
contemplating a visit.
