Photographer German Herrera will present a lecture and show slides of
his work, with a question-and-answer seesion to follow.

Herrera describes his latest body of work as a "book of the self."
Using digital tecnology to merge elements, textures, and symbols, he
creates images that are ambiguous and dreamlike.

Born in Mexico, Gerrera began his career in photography as a street
photographer. His work has been shown internationally and is in the
permanent collections of such nuseums as the Museum of Fine Aart in
Houston and Centro Cultural Santo Domingo in Mexcio City. He has
recently been awarded an artist residecy at the ne deYoung Museum for
