Will Franken's new solo show "For Existence, Press One"

Wed, May 17
8:30pm

$15

WILL FRANKEN's most outrageous and politically-charged performance to
date opens with a reprisal of Franken's patronizing "Good Luck With
It" woman from Marin-this time, she's a painter engaged in a bizarre
conversation with the NPR announcer on her radio. Follow Franken as
he travels to 18th-century Russia, where Catherine the Great's
finance minister advises her on horse and harness prices; to a world
music recording studio, where a volatile flautist argues with his
producer over the lyrics to a summer solstice chant; and to Baghdad,
where a kidnapped American journalist is forced to read a list of his
kidnappers' demands for Al-Jazeera television. In a final darkly
funny piece, Will becomes a drunk driver forced to speak at a
memorial for the high school senior he hit--in hopes of receiving a
lighter sentence.

WILL FRANKEN was named "Best Comedian" by the SF Weekly, "Best
Alternative to Psychedelic Drugs" by the Bay Guardian, and "One of
the Top 25 People to Watch" nationwide by Tribe.net. His last solo
show "Good Luck With It" debuted at the New York International Fringe
Festival to rave reviews-the New York Times applauded his "erudite
wit and highly developed sense of the absurd"-before coming to The
Marsh last fall, where it received glowing praise from the SF Weekly
and San Francisco Bay Guardian.
