Bay Area and Dominican Players Announce Seventeenth Bay Area Fringe
Festival
of New One-Acts & Solo Performances for Theatre Critics Award
For its 17th season new short one-acts and solos by Bay Area and
Dominican
playwrights, directors and actors will be performed for Bay Area
Theatre Critics
awards.
The festival, recently granted a Special Bay Area Theatre Critics
Circle
Award, will take place in Meadowlands Assembly Hall at Dominican
University, 50
Acacia Ave, San Rafael, on weekends from April 7 through April 30 (no
performances on Easter weekend) Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30
p.m. and Sundays at
2 p.m. & a 2 p.m. performance on Sat.April 22.
The festival offers plays ranging from farce to light and dark comedy
and
drama; admission $12.00: seniors and off-campus students $8.00;
children $4.00.

The Dominican Players, comprised mostly of commun ity artists, welcome
new
unproduced one-acts under 20 minutes by community writers as well as
community

From South of San Rafael: Hwy 101 to Central San Rafael exit. Turn =

right at 1st light, get in left lane, take 1st left onto Grand =

Avenue. Continue on Grand Avenue about a mile. At Grand and Acacia, =

park in the lot on the left side of the street (sports center). On =

foot, cross Grand Avenue, walk past Angelico Auditorium, right behind =

Guzman Building, cross bridge over creek. There is a quanzat hut =

(art building), and Meadowlands Dormitory (large Victorian =

building). On the left side of Meadowlands next to the creek is the =

Meadowlands Assembly hall, up 3 steps.

From north: Grand Avenue exit off 101. Take Grand Avenue to =

Acacia, park and proceed as above.
