MILLION FISHES ART GALLERY presents EMPIRICAL NOSTALGIA
On April 22nd and 23rd, Million Fishes Arts Collective will present
Empirical Nostalgia, an art exhibit of systematic works concerning the
passage of space and time. Captured in varied media and processes, all
pieces present an analytic or mechanical component. Some were created
through day-by-day observations, while others gain systematicity by
referencing the rhythmic beats of daily life. Some are calendars or old
photographs, while others are an assemblage of slightly varied collages
that seem to be trying to approximate their subject by repetition. There
are photographs and fabrics, kinetics and lithographs, videos and old
calendars, music and performance.
The show is curated by Andrei Boutyline (Million Fishes) and Helen
Khlystova (outside curator).

Million Fishes is a two year-old arts collective and exhibit space
located in the Mission District of San Francisco. In spite of the
growing pains (and occasional leaks) associated with its young age,
it produces a continous stream of art in (and between) all forms of
media.
