Visual Artist Danica Phelps Gives Public Lecture

For ten years, Danica Phelps has been meticulously documenting and
drawing aspects of her life, using various systems-monetary and
physical-to provide parameters and guidelines for her works on paper.
She has made drawings of all of her receipts, and when these images
were sold, that transaction was folded into the project. More
recently, Phelps has been focusing on personal relationships,
travels, and everyday routines-taking a shower, making love, grocery
shopping, paying her utility bills, or meeting friends-to ultimately
comment on ideas about exchange. Phelps has exhibited at Zach Feuer
Gallery, New York; Roberts & Tilton, Los Angeles; Ritter/Zamet,
London; Sister Gallery, Los Angeles; New Museum of Contemporary Art,
New York; Vancouver Art Gallery, Canada; ICA at Palm Beach, Florida;
and at la Caixa in Barcelona.
