THE LADY'S NOT FOR BURNING
by CHRISTOPHER FRY.

A play in 3 acts. Romance, murder, and mystery in jolly old England
circa 1400... Thomas Mendip, a disillusioned war veteran appears at
the house of the town mayor at an English village, demanding he be
hanged for the deaths of two men whose remains cannot be found. At
the same time Jennet Jourdemayne, a young intelligent woman is blamed
for the disappearances of the same men and is charged of witchcraft.

A thought provoking comedic-drama ensues when the townspeople that
includes the family of the mayor, the Judge, a sleepy Chaplin, a
orphaned copy clerk, and the young woman Alizon who's the prize in a
duel of marriage proposals, all become involved in the solving of the
mystery of the missing men and the pending fates of Thomas Mendip and
Jennet Jourdemayne. Theater fans of the English language will enjoy
this verse play written by the late acclaimed British playwright
Christopher Fry.
