Solace - My dear, don't be afraid, you are home now... is a poignant
dance by Bih Tau Sung, the award-winning choreographer and Artistic
Director of Dancing Sun Dance Company, and guest choreographer Jin-
Wen Yu. Bih Tau Sung is a first-generation Taiwanese-American and a
founding member of Cloud Gate Dance Theater of Taiwan. Guest artist,
Jin-Wen Yu was a soloist with Cloud Gate Dance Theater in Taiwan and
is currently the Artistic Director of Jin-Wen Yu Dance (that tours
internationally) and the Associate Professor and Chair of the Dance
Program at UW-Madison.

Sung and Yu are celebrated artists have forged an original dance
technique that is a fusion of traditional Chinese and Taiwanese dance
with American modern dance. The central theme of Solace - My dear,
don't be afraid, you are home now... is nesting - the comforting
images and thoughts connected with home: to make a home, to migrate
home, to miss one's hometown, and all associated relationships and
issues. Solace... is rooted in a combination of the choreographer's
personal experiences with migration and the emotions that followed
the anniversary of 9/11. The result is a moving three-part dance
designed to bring a sense of comfort, or solace to its audience.
