If you're going to be around Palo Alto this Friday, April 7th, stop
by Jungle to check out Erika's wonderful expressionistic portraits.

Jungle is a part of the Palo Alto First Friday Art Walk. Every first
friday of the month, we have an open house with complementary food
and drinks.

About Erika:
While calling her acrylic painting impressionistic/expressionistic,
Erika Richert describes her style as "The range from almost real to
something like an 'elegant cartoon.'" Rather than depicting her
sitter "photo-real", she employs a looser, more dynamic style, with
colors to please the eye, and uses color and composition to attract
the viewer's attention. "Picture such a portrait", she says, "as the
cover to the book of the story of your life."

Chic, but not remote; artistic, but not contrived, Erika's portraits
are stylized, but not reduced.
