It's safe to come back to Writers With Drinks! Those people have
stopped coming, we promise. You know, the ones with the lobster forks
and the bandanas with sarcastic cartoons on them. Those roving
sophisticates who used "air footnotes" and clever subliminal
pheromone commentary to make you feel inadequate -- they're not
coming back. We convinced them to abandon Writers With Drinks in
favor of that new sadomasochistic puppet mystery play happening at
Twelve Galaxies. A mixture of threats and flattery. Those pheromone-
commenters are nothing if not fickle.

And there are many other great reasons to stop by Writers With Drinks
on Saturday. It's our fifth anniversary, and we're celebrating with:

- Daniel Handler, author of Adverbs and the Series of Unfortunate
Events books. He stole all your furniture and replaced it with
cunningly disguised raisin bread, and it took you a week to notice.

- Ryan Harty, award-winning author of Bring Me Your Saddest Arizona.
He can breathe underwater as long as he thinks salty thoughts.

- Kate Braverman, author of Frantic Transmissions To And From Los
Angeles. You're distantly related to her by marriage, and it's going
to bother you until you figure it out.

- W. Kamau Bell, Comedy Central-featured comedian. He made a fortune
investing in your insecurities, and then lost it in the great vanity
crash of 2005.

- Chris Kraus, author of Video Green and Torpor. She's psychic about
anything purple.

- Tina D'Elia, contributor to Best Lesbian Erotica 2004 and creator
of the one-woman show Groucho: A Day In The D'Elia Soup. She's a
conceptual dinosaur hunter.
