The di Rosa Preserve and COPIA present the Napa Valley premiere of
SMITTEN, a documentary film about Napa Valley's renowned arts patron
Rene di Rosa and his extensive collection of contemporary art by
northern California artists. The screening event will be held at
COPIA on Friday, May 5, 2006, with a private reception and screening
beginning at 6:00 PM for di Rosa Preserve and COPIA members only ($10
per person), followed by a general public screening at 8:30 PM ($6
per person). The filmmakers and Rene di Rosa will offer a question
and answer session with the audiences following both screenings.
Deleted scenes will also be shared. To purchase tickets, please call
COPIA at 707-259-1600 or 888-512-6742 (10 AM - 5 PM Wed-Mon), or
order online at www.copia.org. SMITTEN will have its national
television premiere on PBS, July 12, 2006 at 10:30 PM (check local
listings).

SMITTEN, the new film by award-winning filmmakers Nancy Kelly and
Kenji Yamamoto, invites audiences into the world of Napa Valley's own
Rene di Rosa as he finds pure joy in the discovering of new artists,
while developing a passion and expertise that has become a driving
force behind the California art scene. SMITTEN follows di Rosa as he
tours his collection, interacts with artists and explores the Bay
Area art scene, all the while providing the viewer with insight into
his collecting tastes and his interest in supporting the artists of
his time. Di Rosa has a terrific instinct for artists, helping to
establish the careers of world-renowned artists, including David
Best, Roy De Forest, Mildred Howard, Paul Kos, Richard Shaw and many
others.
