The Mission Arts & Performance Project is one of the most exciting
home-grown arts events happening here in the city of San Francisco.
The MAPP is a bi-monthly collaboration of over 50 visual artists,
musicians, poets and performers, with more than 10 participating
locations. The MAPP puts art and performance on the street level by
using alternative spaces such as private garages, studios, back
yards, and local cafes, for a combined grass-roots festival of the
arts. This is one of the most unique and exciting experiences of
bringing the arts into community.
All MAPP locations present exhibitions and performances
simultaneously during this event. Part of the fun (and perhaps some
frustration) is having to pick and choose from all that is happening.
Actual maps will be available at the Red Poppy Art House.
MAPP tour: 7pm: For those of you who are new to the MAPP, we offer a
free MAPP tour that will take you around to all the locations and
introduce you to the curators/organizers.
