A small gathering of local artists for an evening of words and music.
Marvin K. White; Poet, Playwright, Performer.
Author of two Lambda Literary Award nominated collections of
poetry, Nothin' Ugly Fly and Last Rights Marvin's poetry has also
been anthologized in The Road Before Us, My Brother's Keeper, and
Sojourner.
Darieck Scott, Novelist, Essayist, Poet.
Darieck is the author of the novel "Traitor to the Race." His work
has appeared in the anthologies Shade, Ancestral House, Giant Steps,
and the ojournal Callaloo.
Jewel Gomez; Poet, Novelist, Activist.
Jewel is most known for her cult novel, The Gilda Stories, A Black
Vampire oTale. She is the author of seven books of poetry, short
stories and essays
Derek Lassiter; Singer, Poet, Actor.
Derek's poetry has been published in Comet Magazine, Guywriter's
Journal, & What I Need Right Now. He will be performing selections
from his debut CD, "Witness", due for release March 21.
