Turing Tables

An Installation of Tectonic Spaces
By German Artist Franz John
With Oakland Sound Artist Ed Osborn
Co-Presented by the Goethe Institute
In the Exploratorium Seeing Gallery

This work siphons data directly from finger-servers (small earthquake
sensors in the field, located around the world) and brings it
directly into a real-time and online-based physical installation at
the Exploratorium. Turing Tables is based on the machine-theory of
the mathematician Alan Turing, not his number-chains themselves, but
rather the tectonic forces and energies communicated through his
matrix, which here visibly and continually updates and renews data.
This exhibition is co-presented by the Goethe Institute.
