Although we've been riding out a tempestuous bout of local weather
it's a sure sign that spring is chomping at the bit to make its
fecund and flourished entrance. What better way to usher in the
spring than a night of exotic undulations followed by wild brass
exaltation? Come to Amnesia this Sunday for a night that many have
been excitedly anticipating all month; the return of near eastern
belly dance and music all-stars Super Ultra Bellyesque and the room
rocking ten piece Balkan brasstravaganza, Brass Menagerie.

For the first part of the evening dancers and musicians are banding
together from prominent local troops in "Super Ultra Bellyesque" to
bring to you a night of raw, improvised, and inspired belly dance and
middle eastern musique. There will belly dancers on hand from troops
such as Ultra Gypsy, Arabesque, and others accompanied by a trio of
musicians including Dan Cantrell, Peter Jaques and others prominent
local musicians. Come early for seats close to the action!

Later, prepare yourself to be rocked by the wild gypsy brass assault
of Brass Menagerie. The Brass Menagerie is the Bay Area's premier
Balkan Brass band, performing high-energy, sometimes stretchy, always
exciting music of Serbia, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Balkan Roma &
friends. Last time they performed it was awesome and we're happy to
have them back, sounding bigger and faster than ever employing all
the fanfare required to make you dance like a sweaty, gypsy crazed
'hopa!'-holic.

For those of you craving an evening of entertainment but desirous of
an early bedtime we've been hosting free quality happy hour jazz from
7 - 8:30 pm on Sundays. This Sunday we're happy to welcome back
songstress Hanna Rifkin. If you want an early night, or a smooth
start to your wild ride saddle up at happy hour.
