Cantonese Opera and the 1906 Earthquake: Lecture by William Hu

Dr. William Hu is a retired professor of Stanford University,
University of Washington, University of Michigan and Cornell. In
addition, he was also trained in Peking and Cantonese Operas and
toured with professional troupes under the stage name of Hu Shao-wen.
Dr. Hu will lecture on the relationship between the 1906 Earthquake
and Cantonese Opera. This lecture occurs in conjunction with The New
Cantonese Opera Heritage Project at the Chinese Culture Center, and
is co-sponsored by the Chinese Performing Arts Association.
