Grand Opening: Swarm Studios

Oakland's newest arts space, Swarm Studios (www.swarmstudios.net)
will hold its grand opening celebration Thursday, March 23, 2006, 6 -
9PM, with tenant artists and artists represented by the gallery in
attendance. DJ Y.A.D.D.O.S. and DJ Abdul Itote (Clairvoyant
Productions) will be spinning jazzy beats while guests enjoy a foray
of spontaneous performances throughout the night. Invisible Venue
(www.invisiblevenue.com) will also be presenting video art by local
artists.

Swarm Studios is made up of two parts: Eleven nonresidential artist
studios and Swarm Gallery. The studios are private or shared spaces
for artists working in most media. Swarm Gallery exhibits a broad
range of work by local and international artists and hosts an Artist-
in-Residence program. Strategically located in the commercial
district of Jack London Square, directly next door to Pro Arts and
around the corner from Yoshi's, Swarm Studios aims to provide an
atmosphere of creativity, production, inspiration and opportunity for
working artists, art collectors and the general public.

Swarm Gallery is proud to present at its grand opening the exhibition
"New Works," with paintings and sculpture by Bay Area-based artists
Jonn Herschend and Ryan Reynolds and LA-based artist Michael McDermott.
