GARY MEX GLAZNER

All the way here from sunny New Mexico, Gary Mex Glazner is on tour =

promoting his latest "How to Make a Living As A Poet". Gary is a =

longtime friend o'mine. We met when I was a wee 16 yr. old poet at a =

Ntozake Shange reading and he is one of the founders of the San =

Francisco Poetry Slam. I have had the pleasure of performing, =

traveling and partying with this man. Gary Mex Glazner has been =

published by Harper Collins, W.W. Norton and Salon.com. He is the =

author of Ears on Fire: Snapshot Essays in a World of Poets and How =

to Make a Living as a Poet. Glazner is the director of the =

Alzheimer's Poetry Project, (APP). NBC's "Today" show, NPR's "Weekend =

Edition" and Voice of America have featured segments on the APP. He =

is the editor of Sparking Memories: The Alzheimer's Poetry Project =

Anthology. Glazner is the coach of the Precision Poetry Drill Team at =

Desert Academy. Glazner and the team were featured on NPR's "All =

Things Considered." This past summer Glazner performed in Wellington =

and was featured on New Zealand National Radio. The APP recently =

received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

LASARA FIREFOX

Rolling on in from her Mendo' roost, LaSara Firefox is a long- =

anticipated feature at ELYSEUM. I had been courting LaSara for a good =

long while... -to perform at ELYSEUM, that is... She was caught in =

the process of writing and publishing her acclaimed book, "Sexy =

Witch" (Llewellyn Worldwide). Now that she's the proud momma of such =

a wonderful work, she's able to join us for the first time at ELYSEUM =

(-and her poetry is truly sublime!)

LaSara FireFox is a writer, ritualist, sex-positive activist and =

educator, and designer/facilitator of a variety of interactive, =

exploration-based workshops and rituals. LaSara believes that the =

most revolutionary, and perhaps evolutionary, act we can engage in is =

to become healthy, strong and empowered. She lives with her two =

daughters and ultra-cool husband in the wilds of northern California.

BUCKY SINISTER

Bucky Sinister is another longtime friend. We used to sneak into the =

Above Paradise readings back when the scene was still raw and fresh =

and we were both underage (yeah, that was a WHILE ago!). He went on =

to run the bad-assed Chameleon poetry reading series from 1991-1997. =

He is the author of King of the Roadkills (Manic D Press, 1995), =

Whiskey and Robots (Gorsky Press, 2004) and he has a CD coming out =

with Talent Moat Recordings.
After a long stint in fundamentalism, Bucky freaked out completely =

and escaped to the then-underground world of Spoken Word. Fueled on a =

steady diet of Bukowski, illicit drugs, and San Francisco coffee, he =

learned to write from poets who dressed like bums but spoke like =

kings. His early influences are set in the works of LA poets which =

are combined with the San Francisco Mission street styles to get the =

sound he now has.
Since then, he's learned there's other poets besides Bukowski =

(although Buk is still his official favorite) and somehow got sober. =

He still reads throughout the Bay Area and the rest of the country.

LADY MONSTER

So, after the last ELYSEUM event, Lola, Li'l Karma and I step across =

the street from Mission Control to get a late night 'ritto. I'm =

standing in line to place my order and right in front of me are Jello =

Biafra and Lady Monster! How cool is that? After chatting up a
bit and exchanging info, it dawns on me that ELYSEUM is the perfect =

place to feature Lady Monster. She agreed so here she comes!

Lady Monster is a 'Sex Aesthetician' who is an advocate and activist =

for sexual expression and freedom. She is a performance poet and =

dances with Big Burlesque. She has been photographed by Erica =

Hardesty, Eric Kroll, Charles Gatewood and Leonard Nimoy. She has =

also collaborated with Revolting Cocks, Jello Biafra, Steve Mackay of =

The Stooges, Jennifer Blowdryer and the Evolution Control Committee.

KT MICHEAL

My pal, in spirit and in life, KTM is gonna grace us with words =

exhaled in the true spirit of Love! East coast by birth, southwest by =

association, west coast by present location, KTM lurks in the =

background of some place that you've probably been. It's not poetry, =

it's not prose, it's inspired words that will hopefully find their =

way inside you and lurk in the background there as well. Creator, =

lover, digester, there's something to say, and it will be said. KTM =

is an aspiring minister with dreams of distant Transylvanian =

villages. Her work has never appeared in anything you've read, unless =

you've been snooping through her bedroom drawers, and after you've =

heard her you might want to do just that!
