Stephanie Young's long awaited debut, TELLING THE FUTURE OFF, ensnares
the reader in a loop of theatrical-sets, filtered through the
obsessive-compulsive call and response of self-help tag-lines. It's
3:30 at the office and the landscape is all twisted up in the
bedsheets, littered with car radios, eyeshadow and circuit training.
In the distance, the internet drones. TELLING THE FUTURE OFF is built
of the poetry of Today, of realism colliding with the dream-state. In
it, Young questions and she answers but never does she waver. When she
asks, 'Am I tough enough?' The unanimous answer is Yes."

Stephanie Young's first book, Telling the Future Off, was published by
Tougher Disguises Press in 2005. She's also the editor of BAY
POETICS, due out in 2006 from Faux Press. Stephanie lives and works in

Ana Maria Ventura is a writer based in San Francisco, California. She
is currently pursuing a masters degree in creative writing at San
Francisco State, where she is working on her first novel.

New England native Susanna Kittredge is currently completing her MFA
in Creative Writing at San Francisco State University. Her poetry can
be found in the journals Fourteen Hills, Transfer, Parthenon West and
Sidebrow.net, and in the upcoming Faux Press anthology BAY POETICS.
