Few bands in the Bay Area have buzz the likes of which surrounds The
Herms at the moment. The band, whose latest release, Record Machine,
comes out this month, has a quirky, rocking sound that draws
comparisons to Bowie, the Velvet Underground, The Wedding Present &
Bauhaus, but, as Nate Cavalieri of SF Weekly put it, "Here's a band
that can remind you of great bands, and still be great in its own
right." The band has received kudos from SF Gate, Heel Press, the San
Francisco Bay Guardian and many other local and national magazines
and Web sites. The band lands on the cover of the February/March
issue of Mesh, and we're incredibly excited to present them live at
The Rickshaw Stop.

Tussle is a band known for its phenomenal, dance-inspiring
performances. Blending punk, new & no-wave, indie and danceable, drum
& bass beats from two, count 'em two, drummers, Tussle destroys the
notorious, arm-folded indie scene, and gets the kids to break a
sweat. The band is blowing up across the nation, and was recently
flown out to New York to play the Knitting Factory on New Year's Eve.
While we're not chopper-ing them in to play The Rickshaw, we will be
offering the boys cab fare.

Openers The Ebb & Flow 's Time To Echolocate was named one of the Bay
Area's top albums of 2005 by the San Francisco Chronicle and one of
the most overlooked discs of 2005 by the Houston Press.

DJs Marco Vega and Jenny Fake have been tearing up the local,
underground dance scene with the pairs' Suicide night at The Cat Club
spawning blood wrestling, which somehow combines Girls Gone Wild with
Vampires. Spinning an eclectic blend of retro tunes and modern hits,
the two will keep the dance floor packed.

Mesh contributors Porous Walker (www.owltooth.com ) and Sacha Eckes
will be showing art upstairs at The Rickshaw, but this ain't no
pretentious art show. Both artists bring a tremendous amount of humor
to their work, and both contribute comics to the pages of Mesh.
Eckes' comic Life is Good, just got picked up by the San Francisco
Chronicle. Walker & Eckes are rounding up some artist friends as we
speak, and promise an eclectic collection of amazing art.
