Speaking Pacific - A Poetic Fete

Korean and American poets will "speak Pacific" in celebration of one
hundred years of Korean modern poetry. Lee Ae-ju, a national Living
Treasure of Korea, will open the program with dance, followed by
poetry readings and discussions with American poets Robert Hass,
Brenda Hillman, George Lakoff, Zack Rogow, Jerome Rothenberg, and
Richard Silberg, and Korean poets Kim Jong-hae, Kim Seung-hee, Moon
Chung-hee, Oh Sae-young, and Shin Kyeong-nim. A reception and
booksigning will take place after the program.

This event is presented by the Korean Center, Inc., the Intercultural
Institute of California, and UC Berkeley's Center for Korean Studies.
It is cosponsored by the UC Berkeley Art Museum, which is home to the
Theresa Hak Kyung Cha Archive.
