Touching The Earth Lecture Series

On January 13 the San Francisco Zen Center's lecture series TOUCHING
THE EARTH begins with Gretel Ehrlich who will speak on The Uses of
Beauty. Gretel, an author of 13 books (hit by lightning -twice) who
for the last 12 years has lived and traveled in Greenland and the
Arctic. On January 27 the speaker is the founder of Patagonia, Inc.
Yvon Chouinard, speaking on Zen and the Education of a Reluctant
Businessman . Yvon has used groundbreaking concepts to affirm a
relationship to the environment, including the pledge of 1% of sales
to the preservation and restoration of the natural environment with
an Earth Tax. His new book Let My People Go Surfing: The Education
of a Reluctant Businessman was published in 2005.

The SFZC's TOUCHING THE EARTH lectures are at 7:30 p.m. in the
Unitarian Center, 1187 Franklin Street at Geary in San Francisco.
