Ahoy and heave to! The third annual San Francisco Ocean Film Festival
is drawing into view this coming weekend, presenting films that
celebrate the sea, marine life, and the people who live, work, and
play in or near the ocean. Two days of superb ocean-themed films will
screen on Sat & Sun, January 14 & 15, clustered in 120- to 180-minute
programs. We'll have films on whales and mermaids, channel swimmers
and cod fishermen, surfriders and shark charmers -- take a look at
the schedule and make your selections:

Tickets are priced at $10 for program segments, or buy a whole-
festival pass for $50.
Avoid the January doldrums and catch the wave -- come celebrate the
joy, beauty and mystery of the oceans at Cowell Theater on San
