PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN TO APPEAR AT DAVIES SYMPHONY HALL
City Arts & Lectures has just announced a special event on Thursday,
January 19, 2006 with actor PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN to benefit the
LAByrinth Theater Company in New York City. The on-stage
conversation and film clips will be hosted by Roy Eisenhardt at
Davies Symphony Hall, San Francisco at 8 PM.
Philip Seymour Hoffman recently starred in the film "Capote." His
career spans fifteen years of acting in nearly forty films, including
"Boogie Nights" (1997), "The Big Lebowski" (1998), "Magnolia" (1999),
"The Talented Mr. Ripley" (1999), "25th Hour" (2002) and "Cold
Mountain" (2003.)
His television appearances include "The Daily Show," "Empire Falls,"
"Late Night with Conan O'Brien," and "Inside the Actors Studio."
On Broadway, Philip Seymour Hoffman has starred in "Long Day's
Journey into Night" and "True West." Last year, Hoffman directed "The
Last Days of Judas Iscariot" by Stephen Adly Guirgis, a co-production
of LAByrinth and the Public Theater.
Hoffman is Co-Artistic Director of LAByrinth Theater Company in New
York City, a 14-year-old multicultural collective dedicated to
developing new plays.
Tickets for the event are $25.00 each. One hundred higher-priced
tickets will go on sale later and will include dinner with the actor.
