Rock & Roll Theatresports Tournament & New Sunday Improv - Opening

BATS Improv, SF's largest and most popular improvisational theatre
company, is commencing its annual "Rock n' Roll Theatresportstrade
Tournament" this weekend (Friday / Saturday, January 6-7, 2006).
Six different rock 'n roll-themed teams will compete in
improvisational games, songs and scenes inspired by audience-supplied
information while judges award points. Each night features two teams
competing head-to-head, with the winning team advancing to the next
round. Rounds 1-3 of the tournament will take place every Friday and
Saturday throughout January 2006; the 4th, semi-final and final
rounds will take place all through February. Great music, dance
performances, and side splitting comedy start THIS weekend!!
WHEN: Opening Weekend this Friday/Saturday (Jan. 6-7, 2006).
Tournament run: Fri/Sat nights Jan. 6 thru Feb. 25, 2006. All shows
start at 8:00 p.m.; Doors open at 7:30 PM.
WHERE: The Bayfront Theater, Fort Mason Center, Building B, 3rd
Floor, San Francisco's Marina District

BATS Improv's Sunday Players are starting their new 2006 show format
this Sunday, January 8, 2006. $5 gets you entrance into all three 50-
minute shows (Also, all students of ANY kind admitted FREE- just show
Student ID at box office):
7:00 - "Micetro" - Competition where improvised scenes are performed
by groups, but individuals are singled out for elimination or
advancement to next round
8:00 - "Theatresports" Two teams competing in classic improv games,
songs, or scenes inspired by audience suggestions.
9:00 - Specialty/Long Form - Topics change each week, but performance
is based on a single theme carried out in a 1-3 act play format
