"Pixelism" --- paintings by Zak Akin

Zak Akin blurs the line between digital and traditional art with his
vivid works of "Pixelism" - pixel-like blocks of oil color that take
on an almost photo-realistic appearance from far away, yet are little
more than blobs close-up. However, unlike digital pixels, Zak's are
very textured, very warm, and very human.

A digital artist by day, Zak had already been building website icons
pixel by pixel. "Pixelism" therefore combines his love of the digital
with his passion for painting.
