The Great Dickens Christmas Fair AFTER DARK

Fri, Nov 25 - Sun, Dec 18
11am to 7pm

$8 to $20

The Audacious Allure of London After Dark

After nightfall, Dickens' Victorian London is more worldly-wise. =

Good children are snug abed, and naughty adults go out to play!

While the upright and proper sort may remain at home, to banter =

genteelly over a game of whist, engage in a lively bit of charades, =

or sing around the pianoforte in the parlour, the nightlife of the =

city bustles with colour and activity.

Saucy French Postcard Tableaux Review

Uptown, at the Victoria & Albert Theatre, the stage is given over to =

a roguish production of the "Saucy French Postcard Tableaux Review - =

or the Secret Life of Horatio Everard, Esq." This immensely popular =

nighttime entertainment returns to beguile and delight Dickens Fair =

audiences after a long absence. Enjoy a glimpse of the inner =

reveries of a stalwart Englishman, and view the very flower of =

English Womanhood in bloom. Only those 18 and older will be admitted =

to this risqu=E9 exhibition of unadorned beauty!

An Exquisite Display of Dark Garden Corsetry

Passing through the snow-dusted streets of London on an evening =

shopping expedition, one may discover a particular establishment that =

is exceedingly popular with the gentlemen, as well as the ladies. =

This is the fashionable and well-known corsetiere, Dark Garden, where =

their fine wares, frilly or sleek, may be seen in the large front =

windows. How scandalous that they should be displayed on mannequins =

so lifelike! Why, you would almost think you saw that rich bosom =

heave a sigh! Did that one wink? Oh, my! The mannequins are =

changed regularly throughout the day and evening, so be sure to =

stroll by often to see every scene.

At Mad Sal's Alehouse

Down by the dockside, the haunt of some of Mr. Dickens' more unsavory =

characters, Mad Sal's Blowout Extravaganza winds up and lets fly with =

the last show of the evening. This ribald, raucous, riotous and =

quite improper finale features all the performers seen upon the stage =

at Mad Sal's throughout the day, plus, just possibly, a few =

surprises! Those pert and mischievous girls of the Can Can Bijou =

kick up their pretty heels and show their frillies, the slightly =

soiled beauties of the Ladies' Oratorical and Recreational Society =

entertain with song and suggestion, and the bright-burning stars of =

the Broadside Music Hall stage regale the assembled audience with =

wicked humour and their most popular and provocative numbers. The =

atmosphere is so steamy, in fact, that many of the ladies have =

immodestly removed their outerwear!

The waltzes and parlour games at Fezziwig's cheerful party end, the =

carolers voices fade as good people take their leave. Meanwhile, =

those "in the know" raise a last glass of bubbly with Champagne =

Charlie, or a steaming hot toddy with one or another of the other =

rakish inhabitants of Dickens' London after dark!

General Admission $20.00 at the door; ($17.00 in advance) HALF OFF =
