Join us at the first annual Global Youth Media and Arts Festival!


The Global Youth Media and Arts Program and Festival is a new program
offered to Bay Area youth by Project Spera, an education nonprofit
devoted
to raising youth awareness of global issues
(www.projectspera.org). The Festival is the culmination of three
months of
collaboration between Project Spera and youth in more than 20 local
media
and arts organizations. The three-day exhibition will feature work
created
by youth ages 12-18
addressing this year's theme, "Peace and Conflict: Local to Global". A
wide range of media will be represented at the Festival, including
photography, film, painting, spoken word, creative writing, music,
dance,
radio and print
journalism and web design. The following organizations are partners in

Please join us at in attending the Festival at SOMArts on Thursday,
December 8th or Friday, December 9th from 6-10pm to see performances and
visual art that convey youth perspectives on peace and conflict in the
local community and in the world. The exhibition is also open to
public viewing from 10am-5pm on Friday, December 9th. Exact dates

donation of $5 at the door will be asked of those attending and light
refreshments will be served.
