Western & Rockabilly Dance Night

Sun, Nov 13
8:00pm Sharp

$5

Get yer dancin' boots on!

David Kaye presents another fabulous evening of foot-tapping music --
the kind of stuff people danced to in these parts 50 years ago.

Never heard of Western swing? It's swing music with a twang, the
precursor to rock and roll. Few bands in America do it as well as
the Saddle Cats. Then fast-forward 5 years to rockabilly with Jinx
Jones & the Kingtones! Comb your DA 'do and come join us!

Note the EARLY start time: 8:00pm. So, you can get your dance groove
on and get home at a decent hour, too.

=> THE SADDLE CATS (Western Swing band)
Probably the most authentic Western Swing band in the Bay Area.
Featuring legendary pedal steel player Bobby Black (formerly of
Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen, Asleep at the Wheel, and a
bunch of bands from the heyday of Western music. Led by
Bakersfield's own Richard Chon, a member of Dan Hicks and the Hot
Licks and the Sons of the San Joaquin and a veteran of the
Bakersfield honky tonk scene. If you've ever wanted to know what the
"Western" means in "Country & Western", this is IT! It twangs, it
swings, it rocks. This is the REAL DEAL. www.saddlecats.com

=> JINX JONES & THE KINGTONES (Rockabilly Band)
One of the twangiest guitarists around, his CD, "License to Twang"
sets the bar high in the rockabilly world. See Jinx Jones in one of
their rare appearances. Bring your dancing shoes, your horse shoes,
whatever. www.jinxjones.com
