The Festival of Lights combines music theater, comedy and dance to
celebrate the many holidays of light that come toward the end of our
calendar year. The Lively Foundation invites you to put down that
turkey leg and stop checking that list! The 12th annual Festival of
Lights is back to remind you of the reason for the season.
Professional, nationally and internatiionally acclaimed artists
perform songs, dances and storytelling suitable for children and
their adults. "Beautiful, inspiring, funny!" cheered writer Carmelita
Ng.
The Festival of Lights remains the only holidays concert to honor
many holidays of our diverse community.
Singing cats and a dancing gorilla, Guest Artist Harry Danseur,
along with a special visit by Martha Stewpot to sing her favorite
Christmas carol add a dose of satire and fun to the event.
Music from Gospel to Gershwin. Holidays from Diwali to Lunar New
Year; Kwanzaa, Christmas, Chanukah. The program is based on the
recognition that all these events though celebrating different things
all have light as an important image.
